Vegetable Gardening for Beginners (10 classes)

Vegetable Gardening Theme: Hand-grown vegetables taste amazing! Individuals and families are welcome to participate in this program. Learn what fun it is to grow vegetables through gardening lectures and fieldwork, and grow delicious organic vegetables with your classmates. You will also enjoy the experience of growing vegetables from seed and then harvesting your own seeds. We invite you to learn the cycle of food production and feel the changing seasons throughout the year. Learning in nature teaches us many things. Our lecturer is visiting from the “Seeds, Earth, and Human Future Research Institute”.

Dates: Saturday, March 18th to Saturday, December 16th
Location: Peace & Nature Ozo Base, 47 Hisaihara, Ozo-cho, Kita-ku, Kobe

11:00-12:00 (lecture)
12:00-13:00 (lunch)
13:00-15:00 (fieldwork)

Fees (including seeds, seedlings, and other materials)

Yearly membership: 3,000 yen (individual), 3,500 yen (family)

*We will issue a certificate to participants who attend all 10 classes.

1 adult: 50,000 yen (5,000 yen x 10 classes)
1 middle/high school/university student: 20,000 yen (2,000 yen x 10 classes)

Elementary school and under: free
*Visitor: Adult: 5500 yen, middle/high school/university student: 2500 yen

To bring: hat, towel, long-sleeved clothing (that can get dirty), sunscreen, sneakers or boots, drink, lunch (one of our members will cook and sell lunch at some classes – we will ask you for reservations)
