SDGs Online Roundtable Discussion (11th)] (2021.11.25)

On Thursday, November 25, we held the 11th SDGs Online Roundtable, inviting as a guest speaker Mr. Sagara of Hankyu Hanshin Holdings, a company that has been involved in social contribution activities in the corporate sector since its inception.
Ms. Sagara has been actively involved in the SDGs since before the term “SDGs” was coined, and has been promoting the “Hankyu Hanshin Future Vision Town Project” since 2009 with the keywords of creating a local environment and nurturing the next generation. For children, they provide opportunities for employees to visit schools as instructors to help them realize that their “interests and favorite things” can lead to various jobs that support the city (Dream & Town Waku Waku WORK Program), and opportunities to experience local environment creation through subsidized citizen groups. She also explained that half of the funds to support civic groups are donated by Hankyu Hanshin Group employees through payroll deductions, etc., and that she values the “attitude of learning from the expertise” of civic groups based on an “equal footing” with them.
She also introduced the relationship between Hankyu Hanshin Holdings’ management philosophy, sustainability declaration, long-term vision and medium-term management plan and the SDGs. We empathize that the entire Hankyu Hanshin Group provides opportunities for children, who will be responsible for the future, to grow up healthy and with dreams based on Hankyu Hanshin’s philosophy. Thank you very much to Ms. Sagara, who is promoting SDGs initiatives with the hope of passing on “safety and comfort” and “dreams and inspiration” to the future, and to the 30 participants.
