SDGs Online Roundtable (7th)] (2021.7.22)

On Thursday, July 22, we held the 7th SDGs Online Roundtable Discussion. Mr. Hayato Mori, Representative Director of Mori Kosan Co., Ltd. who has been developing a number of businesses that contribute to a life without harming the global environment under the philosophy of “Love the Earth,” was the guest speaker, and 21 participants thought about the SDGs.
Mr. Mori told us that in 2013, he started by drawing a picture of the year 2133 AD (200 years after the company was founded) with all of his employees. Through the creation of eco-products and support for foreign nationals, the company is working on the philosophy of “LOVE THE EARTH” so that the next generation will say “Thank you. What is important is to harmonize with nature together, and to create products and people. In the end, it is very important for foreign nationals to master the Japanese language in order to work smoothly in Japan, but as part of our support activities for foreign nationals, he holds various cultural events and internships where they can experience work. He also want to value the richness of the wabi-sabi spirit, so they have created a portal site called “WA・SA・Bi” to provide information on living, education, and employment in Japan to foreign nationals. He also talked about the business aspects of the portal site, including the fact that they are working in partnership with banks to provide job matching services.
Mr. Bahram said that Japanese farmers are masters of their craft, and he would like young people to come and learn from them how to solve problems and their philosophy. It would be very grateful if Hayato san could create a flow so that many international students from overseas can participate in the P&N internship program where they can experience the 100 masters, Hyaku no Takumi.
